Because of the law [customs], I [Apostle Paul]
died as far as the law is concerned. I
died so that I might live for God. {20} I have been crucified with Christ
[the Anointed One].
I don’t live any longer.
Christ lives in me.
My faith in the Son of God
[Jesus Christ] helps me to live my
life in my body. He loved me.
He gave
[deliver something to another to keep]
himself for me.
New International Reader’s Version

One way that we have been crucified with Christ is by
relationship: we have become one
with Christ, and His experiences are ours.
Our Christian life began when, in unity with Him, we died to our old
life. In our daily life, we must
regularly crucify sinful desires that keep us from following Christ.
This, too, is a kind of dying with Him.
